On May 10, 1869, at Promontory Summit, Utah, a ceremonial golden spike was driven to join the rails of North America’s first transcontinental railroad. The original golden spike is on display at the Cantor Arts Museum at Stanford University and it weighs 436 grams. The name 436 Software pays homage to what we view as one of the most noteworthy events in surface transportation history. Though only ceremonial, the golden spike played a pivotal role in connecting transportation across the USA.
436 Software has proven technologies, tools, and experts that can assist railroads, trucking companies, 3PLs, and their shipping customers. 436 Software products have been in constant operation since 2014, across multiple surface transportation modalities, and with functionality delivered via web browsers, mobile apps, and RESTful Web APIs.
A key value proposition of our flexible software is the ability to consolidate data from numerous, disparate systems into a cohesive “single pane of glass” for customers and internal stakeholders. Our products have system integrations with:
- Multiple transportation management systems for rail and trucking.
- Multiple document management systems.
- Multiple accounting systems.
- Multiple GPS asset tracking systems.
- Multiple in-cab GPS tracking systems for Class 6 trucks and locomotives.
- A railroad computer aided dispatch system.
More importantly, our systems are flexible, allowing low-cost integrations to additional systems.
